OYO as a travel tech company is trying to maintain positive momentum in the hotel sector which is getting better after going through challenges in the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The company launched its newest program, namely Stay on Us.


The program aims to increase partner property occupancy through the acquisition of new customers. This initiative allows customers to get OYO rooms for free. The condition is, it is enough to provide a referral code or referrals to friends to download and use the OYO application.


Agus Hartono Wijaya, Country Head of OYO Indonesia, said that the company has consistently remained present and has continued to rise over the past two years, navigating the hospitality industry through various adaptive strategies to navigate the pandemic. Agus is optimistic that through collaboration and initiatives such as Stay on Us, the company can maintain the momentum for the return of Indonesian tourism.


“We are optimistic that we can revive the business of small and medium scale property and lodging owners. The Stay on Us initiative is also expected to encourage the growth potential of Indonesian local tourism, including Tourism Villages, which the government is currently intensifying and continues to show a positive trend,” said Agus.

Until now, OYO continues to prove its commitment to helping patrons to keep running their accommodation business amidst the challenging conditions of the travel industry. The company launched various initiatives to respond to these conditions, including OYO360, a feature for asset owners to join independently in just 30 minutes until OYO Discover to acquire new users.


The company also implements the standardization of Clean, Health, Safety, Environment Sustainability (CHSE) in accordance with the direction of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

    There is also a Sanitized Stay program, the VaccinAid logo in the application, as well as a touch-free check-in feature. From these initiatives, OYO recorded an increase in room bookings on its network, which was 176% in May 2022.


    “The Stay on Us campaign exists as part of an effort to maintain the momentum of increasing room bookings at OYO. We are optimistic that this program can be the right step to encourage the business of small and medium-sized property and lodging industry players in Indonesia,” said Agus.
